this fela has decided that widescreen is some big censorship conspiracy...this is an extract...

...."Letterboxing" is the vile practice of censoring movies on video and broadcast television or cable by blocking the top and bottom of the television screen with black bars so that you cannot watch or enjoy the movie....


....WIDESCREEN...The term is used as propaganda to actually suggest that these censored renditions of the films are somehow better, preferable, superior. Further, the term itself is an absolute lie...

this guy is for real...he sent me mail saying he is not willing to debate... and all films should be put into 4:3??...a much superior format?...he thinks.

he could be refering to the method of achieving the widescreen format, because you can use an anamorphic lense, or you can shield part of the film.

films used to be filmed in square format, eisenstein said it was the best format and so did my old film teacher at university and his name was piere la piere if you please so maybe thers something in it. i dont think you should just dismiss his arguement as ludicrous, people used to think the earth was flat. i dont think its a conspirisy but that doesnt make widescreen the default format for movies. why shouldnt a different formats be better for different films, mind you this guy does sound like a twat. choto baka ne? and a prize if you can guess what that means
